In particular, don’t miss Tania Brown’s article, “How Women Can Close The Gender Gap In Financial Wellness.” Ms. Brown lays it out straight: When it comes to finances, women tend to think of others before themselves. They sacrifice their careers to care for their families, assuming caregiver roles far more often than men do, for both growing children and aging parents. They settle for lower paying jobs than they’re qualified for, dip into their retirement savings to fund their kids’ educations, and generally put off their own needs, however important, until others’ are met. As a result, they earn less, save less, invest less, and carry more credit card debt.
