Why Millennial Women Need To Be More Obsessed With Money For many women, money--earning it, saving it, having access to it--represents more than just an ability to pay bills, stockpile for retirement or have nice things. It's a subject area fraught with self-doubt. A 2014 study from Fidelity Investments found that women have good intentions about managing their finances (92% of respondents wanted to learn more about financial planning, for example), but insecurity abounds (60% worried about not having enough money for retirement). Indeed, other research shows that almost half of American women fear ending up poor and homeless in their old age. Even among women earning over $200,000, more than a quarter still hold that fear.
