Job Titles Disrupt Productivity and Innovation
Job Titles Disrupt Productivity and Innovation Employees get buried under and blinded by their job titles and job descriptions. Labeling their role and listing their responsibilities can make them feel trapped and boxed in by a limited set of expectations. Employees are living an identity crisis – uncertain about how to unleash their full potential and that of others. Political bureaucracies define the traditional workplace, where silos slow down productivity, as opposed to the new workplace that is fueled by innovation and initiative. Employees are eager to be more creative and express their opinions. When they let their job titles limit their ability to stretch themselves, it makes it more difficult for their talent to get discovered. Employees are finding it more difficult to navigate the requirements for success in the workplace; the many layers of management bureaucracy make it challenging to be proactive and even leaders have difficulty making decisions.
