Kindness Amidst Conflict: Respect Across Diversity Diversity is only the BEGINNING, not the end goal. Because if we achieve diversity in our schools and universities, workplaces, C-Suites, boardrooms, legislatures, and political tickets without also introducing the ability to truly listen to, respect, learn from, and be kind to people in the same room who are different from us?diversity will turn from a panacea into a nightmare. We are right at that tipping point?when as a culture we can turn our public discourse toward to anger and hate speech against those with whom we disagree, or directly away from it, to kindness and respect - or what the Dalai Lama calls "compassion."
