Lessons From A Hospice Nurse: How To Have A Dignified End A hospice nurse, when faced with her own terminal illness, absolutely did it right. Facing the end of life, she chose hospice for herself and some of her own co-workers were able to attend to her. She was relatively comfortable with pain medication and oxygen and she did not allow any intrusive or aggressive care to interfere with her wishes to die in peace. Surrounded and caressed by her family at the last, she demonstrated for everyone how to have a dignified end. Her last words: "I am at peace". Thank you Janie for showing us how.
